A long tense night

Hey everyone. There is not much more to report and I am really quite tired but I just wanted to send out a quick note to let everyone know that everything has been OK since the surgery. Dr. Burch said that the surgery went as well as was expected and that is encouraging. There are some things that will take a few days to really understand but the surgery went well.

Now we are in the middle of a somewhat tense night. They say that kids tend to have a little dip about 6-8 hours after surgery so we are a just tense in general but Cali she seems to be pretty good right now. She is definitely being watched closely, at times throughout the night we have had a few different doctors and nurses (in addition to her normal 24x7 nurse) keeping an eye on her and checking her out.

We are both pretty tired but fortunately we've got a sleep room right down the hall so we'll probably get a little sleep shortly. It's been a long day so I think we can take a little break.

Cali is in our prayers as well. What an emotional week this has been for you. We love you and have been thinking about you often, especially in the past few days. Abby and Hayden, my two oldest, were diligent in their fasting on Sunday, along with Rob and me. It was the first time they have fasted without so much complaint from hunger as they though of you and your beautiful baby a few miles away. Both of you are also proving your resilience through such a trial. Thank you for your stalwart example of faith and love.
With much love,
