Celebrating Cali

We have made our final arrangements for Cali's day. This has been a challenging week having to work through our grief to plan for Cali's day and her final resting place. We feel that we have planned for a beautiful service, one that will honor our little girl the way we would like to. We have had many people offer support and ask what they can do for us. As Cali lived for such a short time she didn't have the chance to meet many people. She has such a sweet spirit and we would love for as many friends and family as possible to see her, and feel of her special spirit. Please come to meet our little Cali. The funeral information is included in her obituary below. Thanks again for all the love and support.

Cali Koryn, infant daughter of Thomas and Adrienne, returned to her Heavenly Father on Sept 12th, 2009 after seven days on this earth.

Cali was born on Sept 5 at 9:50 PM. She was born with HLHS, a congenital heart defect, and her precious little body fought to survive despite the struggles that were presented.

Cali will always be loved and remembered by her large, loving family who cherished the short time they were able be with her. She is welcomed in Heaven by great-grandparents who passed before her, and we know she is safe in their arms.

On Thursday Sept 17th, 2009 a viewing will begin at 3:00 PM followed by funeral services at 4:00 PM to celebrate the life of this angel who will always be missed. Both events will be held at Edgemont Stake Center, 303 W 3700 N, Provo, UT.

Invited family and friends may attend the graveside service for little Cali at East Lawn Memorial Hills in Provo, UT immediately following the funeral. Arrangements by Walker Family Mortuaries, 85 E 300 S Provo, UT.

I am so, so sorry to hear about the loss of your little Cali girl. I just found out today. My heart goes out to you guys. She is a gorgeous little newborn. You can feel her sweetness through her pictures. You were chosen to be parents of a choice, special, precious baby girl. I hope that brings you some comfort over the difficult days ahead. She was lucky to have you and I'm sure she will miss you as much as you miss her, until you meet again. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Take Care,

Adrienne and Thomas-
I just found out about your sweet Cali, and read through your experience. My heart is breaking for you both. You are amazing. It was hard for me to read, having had some experience with scary newborn surgeries! I'm so glad that you got to have that time with her. She was truely an angel!
With Love-

Adrienne,
I don't believe we've ever met, but I used to work with Thomas at BYU, and a mutual friend directed me to your blog. My heart goes out to you both, and I just wanted you to know that you'll all be in my prayers over the coming weeks and months. Your testimony has really strengthed mine as I've read through your posts, and I'm just so grateful for the knowledge that we all have that Cali is safe, happy and surrounded by loved ones. I wish there was something I could do for you, but know that I'm sending you both lots of love and many prayers.

Hi! I found your site through Google Alerts on my e-mail. My name is Bernie and we also have an HLHS angel named Luke. I am so sorry to hear about Cali and your loss. What angels these babies are on earth. I pray that God holds you in his hands, especially in the next few days. Cali is a beautiful little girl and I know you are so proud to have known her. Take care of yourselves and I pray that you feel secure in knowing that Cali is safe now and is no longer hurting. God bless!

Dear Orrocks,

You do not know me. My name is Jeanette (Randolph) Byers. I know Thomas' parents. I also know his sister Alaina. I got your blog address from Mark Fletcher. I have just read your blog journey from hearing Cali's diagnosis to her death. I am in tears. I can't even begin to understand how this feels or what you are going through. I just want you to know that my thoughts go out to you. And I admire how you've tackled such a difficult situation with so much faith. Thanks for sharing.
