Scooting around Chiang Mai

Hey everyone. We have been in Chiang Mai for a few days now and are having a great time. Our moods have much improved since the hot and crazy day in Ayutthaya. That was quite a tough day dealing with the heat, jet lag and waiting for a train in the hot station (the train was delayed an hour, much to our dismay). But we got to Chiang Mai and things have been bright since then. Our first order of bussiness, rent a scooter. It costs 150 baht/day (less than $5) to rent and it has been the best spent money since. We scoot all around the city going wherever we please, it's great. Next order of buissness was to go see some elephants. So we took our scooter and made the 20+ km trip out to the elephant farm. Before the show we were hanging around the elephant nursery, feeding the elephants when we got some special time with a few elephants. We got to see the show where they did all kinds of tricks, including playing soccer and painting. We got it on tape and can show you guys when we get back. We are loving the food and are having a great time on our scooter here in Chiang Mai. We will be here 'till Tuesday and then we are off to Udorn, Nong Khai and Viantien, Laos. As for today we will be going up a mountain to see a temple (Doi Suthep), and on Monday will take a jungle trek and elephant ride topped off with a traditional thai cultural show and buffet. We hope you are all going great. Talk to you later.
